Feature: James Bond
As the release date of Casino Royale draws ever nearer, we take a look at the titillating images released so far of James Bond’s new beginning… |
While 007 is all about cool charisma and fearless machismo, Bond wouldn’t be Bond without his throng of beautiful temptresses. French actress Eva Green (Kingdom of Heaven) stars as Vesper Lynd, the main object of Bond’s affections, but Italian stunner Caterina Murino, who plays other Bond girl Solonge, clearly isn’t a bad catch either. And let’s not forget the other woman in Bond’s life: his steely boss, M. Judi Dench reprises the role that has been hers since 1995’s GoldenEye, and promises to remain the most intriguing of all the Bond women. Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen plays Le Chiffre, known as ‘the cipher’. An agent for the Soviet assassination bureau SMERSH, he is intent on recouping his losses from a previous failed mission by running a baccarat card game at the Casino Royale. But unbeknownst to him, he is Bond’s latest target. Bond is assigned the task of beating Le Chiffre in the hopes that his foe’s spiralling gambling debts will prompt SMERSH to kill him. GoldenEye director Martin Campbell returns to the Bond fold for the Brit agent’s first mission, and will hopefully launch Daniel Craig as the new 007 with the same dramatic flair that he did Pierce Brosnan back in 1995. |
