Feature: PrimetimeJustice
|
The payoff each week on the new judicial series Justice is so satisfying, that one wonders how it’s possible it has never been done before – they actually show the victim’s death, letting the audience know whether the defendant was guilty or innocent. Brilliant! Even if you’re bored with an episode you’re going to stay tuned to see if they did it. However, this wasn’t enough to guarantee the series success, as Fox pulled the series in mid-November, having already moved it to Mondays from its initial slot on Wednesday. But for once a series has bounced back, returning to the air in December in place of another series, Vanished. The series, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, stars Victor Garber as Ron Trott, a media-savvy celebrity lawyer who believes in winning-at-all-cost. Coming from five seasons on Alias, the actor had no reservations about returning to another series so quickly. “I’ve never played a lawyer on a weekly basis, and I’m finding it incredibly challenging and exciting to do, and that’s why I wanted to get back into series television. What intrigued me was the script. The schedule is brutal, you can’t believe the hours that it takes to do these shows, but at the end of the day, if you go home thinking, ‘I did a good job today, this was exciting,’ it’s all worthwhile.” by Judy Sloane |
