Feature: Star Trek: Enterprise

Gremlins!

The real thing…!

We're suffering here at Starburst from a gremlin that insists on trying to bring different languages to our pages, so we present here the English version of a Spanish-flavoured page the gremlins managed to catch…

Actress Linda Park, who plays Ensign Hoshi Sato in Star Trek: Enterprise, talks to us as her tour of duty sadly comes to an end...

Linda Park has played Ensign Hoshi Sato on Enterprise from Day One. She recalls the day she learned of the show’s cancellation. “I got the official word about the show being cancelled in a call from Brannon Braga,” she says. “I was in hair and make-up here at the studio and I got a message from an assistant director. ‘Brannon wants you to call him.’ Then I got another message. ‘Rick Berman wants you to call him.’ And I thought, ‘Oh God, am I in trouble?’ Of course, being the bad kid, I still waited to get out of hair and make-up to call them back. They told me, ‘We wanted to let you know as soon as possible. We tried to talk to you earlier.’ But I think we all knew it was coming. Talking to Rick and Brannon, that just made it official.

“I don’t think it was too hard to come into work the next day, at least for me. I think that people here knew it was coming. And, to be honest, there were split feelings. Some people were upset about it and other people were ready to move on. It kind of feels like graduating high school; at least it feels that way for me. Everyone’s really tearful and accepting the fact that it’s over, but everyone’s also got to move on with the rest of our lives and careers. We all still have great relationships. Season Four has been really good. So it’s nice to leave to leave on such a good note.”
